ANALYSIS: August Shrimp Imports Decline Accelerates
August U.S. shrimp imports were released Wednesday, with year-over-year declines accelerating from last month. The data showed a 20 percent decline from August 2021, which was an all-time monthly record of 196.745 million pounds, and further supported expectations that July was the beginning of a reversal of a years’ long trend. August shrimp imports came in at 157.381 million pounds which was still the third highest total for the month in history but narrowed the year-to-date margin to 1.9 percent at 1.275 billion pounds...
