Many Pacific Region Covid-19 Relief Plans Still In Progress for Fishermen, Processors
Roughly three years into global chaos thanks to COVID-19, the world is trying to return to normal. At the same time, many state and federal relief funds for fishermen and processors are still in the works, with deadlines looming.
NMFS announced in March 2021 that a second round of "CARES Act" funding -- $255 million for coastal states -- would be made available as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. Some of that funding has yet to be disbursed.
