MSC Congratulates ICCAT On State-of-the-Art Conservation Measures to Safeguard Atlantic Bluefin Tuna

Yesterday the agreement to establish a management procedure for Atlantic bluefin tuna was ratified during the conclusion of the 23rd special meeting of the International Commission for Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT). 

Based on the draft recommendation, the management objectives for Atlantic bluefin tuna include stock statuses, including that “both the western and eastern stocks should have a 60% or greater probability of occurring in the green quadrant of the Kobe plot (no overfishing occurring and not overfished).” Safety, yield, stability are also...
