Japan: Fresh Tuna Imports in May Up 49% at 499 Tons, 93% at JPY 1,019 Million
According to the Ministry of Finance's trade statistics, May imports of fresh and chilled tuna were 499 tons, up 49% year-on-year, worth 1,019 million yen ($7.19 million), up 93%. Frozen imports hit 15,111 tons, a 14% increase, 20,645 million yen ($145.73 million), a 36% increase, processed products 4,268 tons, an 18% increase, 3,416 million yen ($24.10 million, a 30% increase).
