Phillips Foods Acquires Two Canadian Plants
After months of speculation, Phillips Foods has confirmed the purchase of two Canadian lobster and snow crab plants.
Rumors started swirling in November that Phillips, which primarily focuses on blue and red swimming crab, was looking to expand with lobster and snow crab. Sources told Undercurrent at the time that Phillips was in talks to acquire Pecheries Bas-Caraquet Fisheries, a New Brunswick-based company that was founded in 2010.
