The whelk fishery in Nova Scotia is officially open. Mike Kelloway, Parliamentary Secretary to Fisheries, Oceans and Canadian Coast Guard Minister Diane Lebouthiller, met with harvesters on Tuesday to celebrate the first season opening of the commercial whelk fishery.
