Canadian Government Invests in Land-Based Salmon Farm Start-Up
With open-net pen salmon aquaculture set to be banned in British Columbia coastal waters by June 30, 2029, the Canadian government is looking at alternatives. This week Sophie Chatel, Member of Parliament for Pontiac, announced on behalf of the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for CED (Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions), a repayable contribution of $99,998 for Samonix Inc.
