BOEM Touts First-ever Oregon Offshore Wind Auction
It appears Oregon is the latest in the federal government’s plan to industrialize the ocean for offshore wind development. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management announced it will hold an auction for two areas on October 15.
BOEM published a Final Sale Notice on its Oregon Activities website today, which is also scheduled to publish in the Federal Register next week. BOEM said the two areas could generate up to 3.1 gigawatts of energy.
