Climate Resilience Critical to US Seafood Growth, Study Finds
Expanding US seafood production will require greater resilience to climate-driven disruptions, according to a new University of Miami study.
Published July 6 in Fish and Fisheries, the study uses Gulf Coast fisheries to examine how hurricanes can disrupt seafood harvests, infrastructure and supply chains. The researchers say the same risks apply to other climate-related threats, including marine heatwaves and harmful algal blooms.
