NOAA Selects Mississippi State to Lead New Gulf Cooperative Institute
NOAA has selected Mississippi State University to host the Cooperative Institute in the Gulf of America (CINGA), a new research partnership focused on better understanding the region’s ecosystems and the social and economic forces shaping the Gulf. The five-year award is valued at up to $100 million, with the potential for a five-year renewal based on performance. Mississippi State was selected through an open, competitive evaluation, and CINGA will be affiliated with NOAA’s Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory in Miami.
