DFO Opens Up Public Engagement for First-Ever Aquaculture Act

Canadian Fisheries Minister Bernadette Jordan announced the next phase of the Federal Government’s public engagement on its first-ever Aquaculture Act.
The DFO made a discussion paper available that features background on the aquaculture sector in Canada, the rationale for the proposed legislation and an overview of elements proposed in the Act. The public is invited to visit https://dfo-mpo.gc.ca/aquaculture/act-loi/consultations-eng.html and will have until January 15, 2021 to participate in the consultation round.
