Russia Sees Surge in Squid and Seafood Production Amid Rising Domestic Demand
As domestic demand continues to surge, Russia is expecting a significant increase in the catch of squid and other seafood over the coming years.
According to data from Alexander Panin, Chairman of the Russian Fish Union, Russian fishermen caught over 110,000 metric tons of Far Eastern squid in 2024 — an increase of 27% compared to the same period in 2023, and a 66% jump from 2022.
