San Diego County Sues Grocery Sushi Franchise Companies Over Worker Misclassification

The County of San Diego has filed suit against five sushi franchise businesses that operate counters inside grocery stores across California, alleging they systematically misclassified sushi chefs as independent contractor "franchisees" to avoid paying minimum wages, overtime, and other legally required benefits.
