Nome Port Expansion Funded, Final Design Underway, Construction to Begin in Spring 2023

President Biden signed The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act last November, which carried $250 million in funding for the long-awaited expansion of the Port of Nome in Northwest Alaska. The project will create the U.S.’s northernmost deep-water port and offer safe harbor to larger ships that are begining to transit the Arctic Ocean in higher numbers each year.
