American Fisheries Advisory Committee Passes Congress, Gives Industry a Voice in S-K Funding

It’s taken almost four years, but Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan’s bipartisan bill to create an industry-led Advisory Committee on Saltonstall-Kennedy grants for fisheries marketing, research, and development, will soon be law.
S.497, the American Fisheries Advisory Committee Act (AFAC), passed overwhelmingly by the U.S. House 404-11 on April 26. It now goes to the President for his signature.
