Massachusetts Commercial Fisherman Pleads Guilty To Evading Taxes
A Massachusetts commercial fisherman identified only as “John Doe of New Bedford,” has pleaded guilty to evading taxes.
According to a notice from the Justice Department, Doe made approximately $1.9 million in income between 2012 and 2021. However, he did not file any tax returns with the IRS or pay taxes on the income. Instead he reportedly concealed his earnings by cashing paychecks from fishing companies at check-cashing businesses.
