USCG, Agencies Continue Response to Vessel Grounded Near Bodega Bay
Refloating a grounded crab vessel on Sunday and Monday failed; now agencies are turning to cleaning up and offloading any petroleum products and crab.
The unified command and partner agencies continue their response Tuesday, attempting to mitigate any impacts to the environment, the U.S. Coast Guard said in a press release. The 58-foot crab vessel Aleutian Storm grounded two miles southwest of Bodega Bay Friday night; four crew escaped to the beach safely. Rough surf continued to pound the vessel over the weekend.
