Japan's 2024 Salmon and Trout Imports Increased 8%, Driven by 20% Increase in Frozen Coho
In 2024, Japan's total salmon and trout imports increased 6% year-on-year to 294.40 billion yen ($1.94 billion), as total import volume increased 8% to 230,879 tons, and the total average unit price fell 2% to 1,275 yen/kg. Frozen coho salmon led the overall import.
