Russian Salmon Sector Booming These Days

The Russian salmon sector is booming these days despite a significant drop of imports and maintaining stable domestic demand for salmon, according to recent statements made by representatives of producers and some local media reports.

According to latest data of the Russian Fisheries Union, imports of Atlantic salmon to Russia have declined by almost half over the last five years and amounted to 44,000 tons in 2023.
