Japan Expands Local Salmon Farming to 113 Brands Nationwide
The market for locally farmed salmon is expanding across Japan. According to a survey by Minato Shimbun, as of mid-April, there are 113 local salmon brands nationwide, an increase of nine since last year's survey.
Each producer is particular about the breeding environment and feed, and they differentiate their salmon as a domestic product with a strong regional flavor.
