ANALYSIS: Price Trends and Production Data for Norwegian Atlantic Salmon
According to the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, Norwegian Atlantic salmon harvest volume increased by 33.4% year over year (y-o-y) in April, leading to a softer market. Although there was some recovery in price in the first two weeks of May, primarily due to microalgae blooms from the genus Phaeocystis and Chrysochromulina, the abundant supply continues to exert downward pressure on prices.
