Russia Witnessing Lower Volumes of Capelin Catch
Russia faces a shortage of capelin this year and a significant increase in prices due to the almost complete suspension of its catch in the Barents Sea, caused by state plans to preserve its spawning stocks.
That has already led to a sharp increase in prices for Atlantic capelin in Russia, which have increased almost threefold since the beginning of the current year.
