Japan Ministry Launches Large-Scale Seaweed Carbon Absorption Demos

According to a Minato Shimbun report, the Japanese Ministry of the Environment recently selected project implementers for a large-scale demonstration project to cultivate seaweed to absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), a major driver of global warming. Among these, Riken Foods will collaborate with Nichimo and others to begin efforts to maximize the productivity of Undaria seaweed and kelp cultivation.
