Russia Salmon Catch Likely to Reach Record 2009 Level; Abundance Leads to Lower Domestic Prices

Prices for salmon in Russia is steadily declining due to a record catch this year, according to leading Russian fishermen and representatives of Rosrybolovsto, the Federal Fishery Agency.
To date, prices for pink salmon in the Russian market have already declined by 20 to 25 percent and, according to analysts’ predictions, the decline will continue during the next 1 to 2 months.
