Fat Bear Week is Over but Pebble Mine Threat Continues
If you haven’t heard, “Fat Bear” is definitely a thing.
For four years now, the rangers at Katmai National Park famous McNeil River have had a Fat Bear contest to share amazing photos of brown bears feeding on red salmon, while educating the public on the importance of natural systems that work together.
The contest, like American Idol, is won by a public vote based on photos and video of some of the largest of McNeil’s feeding bruins.
