SAVE Right Whales Act Passes Out of Senate Committee
Help is coming for the beleagured Atlantic right whales, assuming the legislation that passed through a Senate committee yesterday is as swiftly enacted by both houses in Congress.
The U.S. Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee approved S. 2453, the SAVE Right Whales Act Wednesday. The bill was introduced by U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) initially in September. Sens. Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Tom Carper (D-DE), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) introduced the substitute bill that passed the committee Wednesday.
