ADF&G Says No Yelloweye Rockfish Fishery in Southeast Alaska for 2020
There will be no commercial or personal-use fishery for yelloweye rockfish in Southeast Alaska this year, says the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Scientists are concerned that biomass of yelloweye rockfish has declined 60% since 1994 in the Eastern Gulf of Alaska, despite conservative management over the last decade. There has also been evidence of little recruitment in the data that is gathered annually.
