Japanese Sea Urchins to Be Exported to EU for the First Time
Kitasanriku Factory of Iwate Prefecture, the first sea urchin facility in Japan to receive EU HACCP certification, will export to the Netherlands, France, Italy, and other countries in the future. The company's CFO, Hirokazu Suzuki, has received inquiries from several European companies, saying, "High-quality sea urchins are in demand in Europe, and there is strong demand for Japanese sea urchins in French and Italian restaurants," reported Minato Shimbun.
