Maine Lobster Harvesters Landed Over 100 Million Pounds in 2019
The Maine Department of Marine Resources released their 2019 commercial landings on Friday, and according to the agency 2019 landings were the "second most valuable of all time."
Last year Maine's commercial fishery brought in a value of $673,910,558 —an increase of more than $26 million from 2018. Looking specifically at lobster, harvesters in Maine landed 100,725,013 pounds for a value of $485 million.
