Sapporo Central Wholesale Market stopped seafood, fruits, and vegetable auctions on March 6. The decision is the first action to combat against the coronavirus (COVID-19) among the 64 central wholesale markets in Japan. The virus infection cases spread on the entire island of Hokkaido; the number of infected persons is at 108 as of March 9.
