Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan to Concur With No Change in Glass Eel Quota
Concerning the resource management of the endangered Japanese eel, Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan set the quota on glass eels to be cultivated during the next fishing season (November 2020 through October 2021). An official agreement is expected to enter in force in May, revealed negotiation officials on April 9, according to Suisan Keizai Shimbun. This fishing season experienced abundant catch in the four countries and regions, and there is little urgency to lower the quota.
