Monterey Bay Aquarium Announces Significant Staff Reductions
The Monterey Bay Aquarium, which runs the Seafood Watch program reduced its workforce with layoffs and furloughs of over 200 employees.
The Aquarium, which has been closed since March 23 said 93 employees were laid off, with an additional 128 furloughed, marking a 38% reduction in the workforce. The Aquarium also implemented a 20% compensation reduction for executive leadership and vice presidents, and 10% for all employees making over 100K per year.
