FDA Updates Guidance Explaining Seafood HACCP Exemptions from Food Safety Modernization Act
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has updated a trio of guidance documents, including the Seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) to explain the connection between the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations and pre-FSMA regulations.
Back in 2017, the FDA initially published the guidance documents to help food producers covered by pre-FSMA regulation understand which parts of the FSMA regulation apply to them and how FSMA may impact their operations.
