Snow Crab Landings Update And Seasonal Closures As of May 31

According to preliminary numbers for the Gulf of St. Lawrence, 81.08% of the snow crab quota has been landed as of May 31. Less than 20% of the quota remains as Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) continues to announce grid closures related to North Atlantic right whale sightings.
The initial quota for the Gulf was set at 28,065.198 metric tons and was revised to 27,937.778 metric tons. So far a total of 22,652.0002 metric tons have been caught, with 5,285.776 metric tons remaining...
