Multiple Snow Crab Processors Reportedly Halt Production Lines Citing Market Troubles
A handful of snow crab processors in Newfoundland and Labrador have reportedly halted processing lines, per the Seaward Enterprises Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (SEA-NL).
The group said at least two companies, Notre Dame Seafood and Quinlan Brothers stopped buying crab this past Friday. The move has pushed SEA-NL to urge the provincial government to allow owner-operators to truck snow crab out of province given the situation.
