Even at Record Levels, Pollock 'Competitive' to Other Proteins
Single-frozen pollock prices may have risen to record levels, but the wild whitefish remains competitively priced to other land-farmed proteins, according to data from UrnerBarry (UB) shared with Undercurrent News.
According to US wholesale price data provided to Undercurrent by UB, single-frozen pollock blocks are more expensive than comparative pork raw products but cheaper than beefand chicken. However, prices for other proteins seem to be coming down while pollock has been rising.
