Mowi Continues to Hit Record Results but Concerns About Tax Proposal Cast Shadow
Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi reported a record-high 1,257 million euros (US$1.259 billion) in revenues in Q3 2022, while its operational profit reached 240 million euros, compared with 131 million euros in the corresponding quarter of 2021.
Although the company witnessed more financial records, Mowi remained concerned with the Norwegian government’s proposed resource rent tax of 40% on salmon farming, or 62% including corporate tax.
