Japan’s Kelp Imports Challenged Due to Drastic Reduction of Chinese Kelp
On November 8, the Japan Kombu (Kelp) Association held a regular autumn meeting at the Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel and reported on the details of the first half of this fiscal year. Imported kelp from China fell far short of the initial plan, and Korean kelp did not agree on the price, so the import was abandoned this year, Suisan Shimbun reported.
