Crab Season Finally Opens on Oregon's Southern Coast
It's about time! The last portion of the Oregon Coast that has been delayed will finally open Feb. 4.
The area, from Cape Arago, near Charleston, to the California border, was held up by low meat quality and then "hot" crab that showed elevated levels of domoic acid.
But on Thursday, the fleet got the all clear signal to set their gear. However, some parts of the area may open under an evisceration requirement.
