Russia’s Leading Fish Roe Processor Putina Manufactures Crab Sticks
According to the Hokkaido Trawl Fisheries Cooperative Federation, Russia's major fish roe maker, Putina, recently announced that it would start producing crab sticks. They will procure frozen surimi of Alaska pollock from Gidrostroy in Iturup (aka Etorofu) Island. With the emphasis on "using domestic raw materials," it is said that they will be on the shelves of major retailers around the end of this spring, reported Minato Shimbun.
