ANALYSIS: Assessing the Impact of Russian Pollock on the European Market
While the European pollock market remains in a “wait and see” mode, participants are keeping an eye on Russian pollock as it continues to impact the market; Russia completed Season A with an overall catch of 967 000 metric tons across the Far East Fishing Basin, a 10% increase from last year. Pollock harvest in the country’s main fishing ground, the Sea of Okhotsk reached 804 300 metric tons, 2% up from last year.
