Hokkaido Land-Based Surimi Production in June Down 2.7% for Pollock, 60.2% for Atka Mackerel
According to a report by the Suisan Keizai Shimbun, the production volume of land-based surimi from Hokkaido in June, announced by the National Surimi Manufacturers Association, showed a slump overall, partly because Alaska pollock surimi still did not reach the level of the same month in the previous year. Atka mackerel also remained sluggish, partly because of the rebound from the relatively strong performance in the previous year.
