Forsea Foods Unveils First Prototype of Cell-Cultivated Freshwater Eel
This week Forsea Foods unveiled their first prototype of cell-cultivated freshwater eel.
Forsea Foods was founded in 2021 with a mission to “turn the tide on the downward spiral of the ocean’s seafood populations by developing cell-cultivated alternatives.” With overfishing concerns and the popularity of eel meat in Asia, Forsea focused their efforts on replicating traditional Japanese unagi eel, featuring the same tender, succulent texture and rich flavor as real eel.
