OBI Seafoods Not Operating Larsen Bay Plant For 2024 Season Due to "Poor Pink Salmon Forecast"
OBI Seafoods confirmed on Wednesday that its Larsen Bay plant on Kodiak Island will not be in operation for the 2024 salmon season. The company said that the decision stems from the "poor pink salmon forecast" that was issued by Alaska's Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G), as well as "tough market conditions for salmon products in general."
