ANALYSIS: Ratio of Farmed to Wild U.S. Shrimp Imports from Mexico Remains Consistent
While the data set is relatively new, the ratio of farmed to wild U.S. shrimp imports from Mexico remained relatively consistent in 2023. In 2021, the first year tracked, farmed shrimp represented 78% of all imports into the United States, with wild at 22%. But it shifted in 2022, where the ratio was 56% to 44%, and followed in the most recent year at 55% farmed and 45% wild.
