Cemex to Use Abandoned Fishing Nets to Create Alternative Fuel in Its Panama Kilns
The Aquatic Resources Authority of Panama (ARAP), the construction materials company Cemex together with Audubon Americas as a facilitating partner, set out to address the growing threat of abandoned fishing nets that endanger marine ecosystems in Panamanian waters, also known as "ghost nets."
A press release announced that Cemex will process the fishing nets collected through Regenera, its waste management business, into alternative fuel for its cement kilns.
