US Should Improve Outreach with Tribes and Fishing Industry on Offshore Wind, GAO Report Finds
The US Interior Department needs to more effectively incorporate feedback from commercial fishing groups and tribal officials in the offshore wind development and leasing process, according to a new report from the Government Accountability Office, a US government watchdog.
The April 10 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report urged the Interior Department's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to better address concerns related to offshore wind development coming from the commercial fishing industry.
