Japan: Sendai Market Hits Record-High Price for Sockeye from Copper River
On June 7, the Sendai Central Wholesale Market received its first shipment of chilled salted sujiko (sockeye roe) from Alaska’s Copper River. The quantity listed was 74 pails at 5 kg each - 11 more than last year’s first shipment. Based on the inspection held before the auction, salted sujiko was traded at the highest price ever.
