Russia May Ban Norwegian Trawlers from its Waters Amid Fisheries Row

The Russian‑Norwegian fisheries crisis is deepening after Russia warned it may impose retaliatory measures against Norwegian trawlers entering its territorial waters if talks fail to lift restrictions on Russian vessels operating in Norway’s economic zone.
The warning came from Vasily Sokolov, deputy head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries. Norway earlier imposed measures against Russian fishing companies Norebo and Murman Seafood, banning their vessels from operating in Norway’s economic zone.
