Judges Order Columbia and Snake River Dams to Help Salmon Migrate Through the Rivers This Year

Last week, a federal judge in Oregon issued a decision that essentially reversed President Trump’s June 2025 withdrawal from the Resilient Columbia Basin Agreement.
Although the agreement has not been reinstated, U.S. District Judge Michael Simon ordered a series of emergency operations at eight dams on the Lower Columbia and Snake Rivers to aid in salmon and steelhead passage.
